Features

What Nilo does

AI 3D model generation

Type a prompt, upload an image, or sketch an idea, and Nilo turns it into a 3D character, weapon, prop, environment or accessory in seconds. Creators go from concept to a usable asset without modeling software or 3D experience.

Automatic rigging and animation

Nilo rigs your models automatically and animates them from a text prompt. Characters and creatures are ready to move in-game without hours of manual weight painting or keyframing.

Asset pack generation

Generate a full, coordinated set of assets from a single reference image. Every prop in the pack shares the same style, so your game looks consistent from the first build.

Roblox avatar, skin and UGC design

Design custom Roblox avatars, skins, clothing and UGC items with AI, complete with animation support. Everything you make is yours to publish and sell on the Roblox Marketplace.

Playable, collaborative 3D worlds

Build worlds together in real time, invite friends with a shareable link, and playtest your creations right in the browser. You can create and publish fully playable worlds in Nilo, with more game-building features on the way.

Game-ready export to Roblox Studio and beyond

Click Export and download a Roblox-ready .fbx, .glb or .stl file, then import it into Roblox Studio and it's ready to use. The same files work in Unity, Unreal Engine, UEFN, Godot and more.

Why Nilo

What makes Nilo different

  1. One tool instead of five

A typical Roblox asset workflow jumps between an image generator, Blender for modeling and rigging, a texture tool, and Roblox Studio. Nilo combines image generation, custom skins, 3D modeling and animation in one browser tab, so creators never juggle files between apps.

  2. Built for Roblox, not general 3D pipelines

General-purpose AI 3D generators like Meshy and Tripo are designed for any engine or workflow. Nilo is built around the Roblox creator workflow, with no manual cleanup, UV mapping, polycount headaches or import errors on the way into Roblox Studio.

  3. Built-in level of detail slider for lag-free games

Heavy AI-generated meshes can tank performance, especially on phones, where much of the Roblox audience plays. Nilo's level of detail slider lets you dial in polycount before export, so models stay fast and lag-free even on mobile.

  4. Playtest before you export

With Blender or most AI generators, you only see how an asset feels once it's imported into your game. In Nilo you can run around with your creations in the browser first, then send them to Roblox Studio once they feel right.

  5. Free to start, and paid plans are 50% off right now

The Starter plan is $0 with 1,500 Bits per month, and many core building features use no Bits at all. Paid plans are billed monthly and are currently 50% off: Builder is $14.99/month (regularly $29.99) with over 1.5x more usage than Starter, and Pro is $37.49/month (regularly $74.99) with over 4x more usage, both with advanced generation models.

  6. Built by the teams behind Fortnite, Unreal Engine 5 and Fable

Nilo's team includes veterans from Epic Games, Fortnite, Unreal Engine 5, Fable, Blizzard, Twitch, VRChat and Rec Room. We have shipped the tools and games creators already love, and we built Nilo to fix what frustrated us about them.

Our creators

Who uses Nilo

  • Solo Roblox developers who need custom 3D assets but don't know Blender.

  • Small Roblox studios (2 to 20 people) that want to prototype and ship content faster, giving their artists and developers more time for the creative work.

  • Roblox UGC creators designing avatars, skins, accessories and clothing to sell on the Roblox Marketplace.

  • Young and first-time game creators moving from playing games to making them.

  • Indie developers on Unity, Unreal, UEFN and Godot who want fast, game-ready assets for prototyping.

  • Content creators and streamers building worlds and assets live with their communities.

Our story

The team behind Nilo

Nilo started with one question: what if making a game could be as fun as playing one? Our founder watched talented creators give up on projects because the tools were too hard, so in April 2024 he assembled a team and had a working AI-native prototype within three months.

Nuno Leiria, Founder & CEO

Nuno has spent over 15 years in the games industry working on AAA titles including Fable and Fortnite. Before Nilo, he led the optimization team for Unreal Engine 5 at Epic Games.

Today Nilo is a fully remote team of 20+ people across 9 time zones, including Fortnite and Unreal Engine 5 veterans, former Fable developers, Warcraft and Diablo design leads, Twitch ecosystem architects, TikTok global marketing leads, and VRChat scaling experts.

In September 2025, Nilo raised a $4M seed round led by Supercell, with participation from a16z speedrun, Kfund, Flex Capital, Essence VC, and others. Read the announcement or join the team.

Frequently asked questions

What is Nilo?

Nilo is a browser-based 3D creation platform built for Roblox creators and game developers. Our open beta is live for everyone now.

Who is Nilo for?

Nilo is for Roblox creators and game developers who want to spend their time creating rather than fighting technical hurdles like manual optimization, UV mapping, or import errors. Whether you are a solo developer or part of a team, Nilo streamlines your workflow and helps you bring your game to life.

Is Nilo free to use?

Yes! Our Starter tier is free and includes 1,500 Bits per month, and many core building features use no Bits at all. For power users, our Builder and Pro tiers offer a bigger Bits Battery and access to advanced generation models.

What are "Bits" and how do I get more?

Bits power our generation models, and your usage comes from a Bits Battery that recharges to full every week, with a bigger capacity on higher tiers. You can earn extra Bits through Nilo Rewards by referring friends and building within the community, or buy more on your profile page.

What are Nilo Rewards?

Nilo Rewards is our way of giving back to active builders. Earn Bits by referring friends, building in Nilo, and contributing to the community. The more you build and share, the more you earn.

What makes Nilo better than other AI tools?

Nilo is your all-in-one cheat code for Roblox dev, combining image generation, custom skins, 3D modeling, and animation in one easy tool instead of a bunch of confusing apps. You can playtest and run around with your creations right in the browser before sending them to Roblox Studio. A built-in level of detail slider keeps your models fast and lag-free, even on mobile.

How does exporting work?

Create your character, prop, or environment in Nilo, click Export, and download a Roblox-ready file (.fbx, .glb or .stl). Import it into Roblox Studio or another game dev platform and it's ready to use.

Roblox, Roblox Studio, Unity, Unreal Engine, UEFN, Fortnite, Godot, and more! You can also use your models natively in Nilo to create playable worlds.

No, Nilo is a standalone platform. You create in your browser, then export directly to Roblox Studio. No plugin needed.

Do I need to know how to code or use Blender?

No. Nilo is built to handle the technical stuff for you. If you can describe your vision with a text prompt, a sketch, or a reference image, Nilo can build it, rig it, and animate it.

What can I build with Nilo?

3D characters, weapons, props, environments, and accessories. Builders in our community are making everything from legendary weapons and custom avatars to full floating-island worlds.

Can I create full games with Nilo?
